Hundreds of thousands of San Diegans will remember July 4, 2012. Due to a computer glitch, an entire firework display went off in 20 seconds. It made national news. I say what a way to fail! If you saw it firsthand it will be remembered amidst the hundreds of firework displays you see in your lifetime. It scored big in the creating memories category. For instance, I attended a fireworks display July 3rd. It was a great show BUT...do I remember the display of fire I saw? No. Failure is something we avoid. For many of us failure means we didn't prepare or plan enough. Not so. Failure is about trying and learning. Its about changing your actions and mindset. Some of my biggest "ah-has" came when I failed. Failures create amazing memories. Why not call that nonprofit and talk about partnering? Why not call that business owner and ask about a sponsorship? Why not call your neighbor department and ask about sharing equipment? What are you waiting for? Let me know what you think:
