Monya Jameson, Superintendent of Recreation & Community Services, Chico Area Recreation & Park District, has been appointed the Region 1 Representative, serving Districts 1, 2, and 3. This appointment was due to the resignation of Derek Schweigart, who has taken a new position out of the Region 1 boundaries. CPRS bylaws state a regional representative must either work or reside in the region they are representing. Monya will complete Derek's term, which ends March 2014. Monya has been a CPRS member since 2000 and has been active in the Recreation Supervisors and Administrators Sections and Districts 2, 11, and 15. In 2010-2011 she served as President of District 2.
