  • Connections E-Newsletter - November 2022

    CPRS District 1:

There are many important updates to share this month!

Firstly, a special thanks to Alana Behn for a fantastic Bowling for Parks program, Strike Night event, and all her efforts supporting CPRS Region 1 (Districts 1, 2, and 3) in our Fall Forum professional training event. Being a rockstar is not without its tradeoffs. Alana informed the D1 Board at our November meeting that she had to respectfully take a step back from her role on the Board due to her recent appointment as the Interim Recreation Manager with the City of American Canyon. We are incredibly grateful for all the hard work and energy Alana brought to the Board and understand this was a tough decision. Still, we are excited for her as she develops her career in new and exciting ways. We are proud of you, Alana! While Alana focuses on her team in American Canyon, we must press on to focus on the future of our team, which brings us to ELECTIONS!

I proudly announce that Rachel Beer was appointed President-Elect, and the Vice President position will remain vacant for now. The Board now seeks the best and the brightest parks and recreation professionals to step up to take on leadership roles! We have several positions on the 2023-24 Board of Directors for individuals passionate about improving themselves and the parks and recreation profession.

    • Vice President (3-year term, Vice President to President-Elect to President)
    • Treasurer (2-year term)
    • Director at Large (1-year term) -- 5 openings available

If you or someone you know exhibits a strong passion for their career in parks and recreation and would be a positive representative for District 1, please answer the following questions and submit them to President-Elect, Rachel Beer at rbeer@cityofpetaluma.org

    1. Candidate name

    4. Candidate statement, not to exceed 100 words
