  • NOW ACCEPTING! 2024 CPRS District 9 Scholarship Applications

    Hello District 9!

    I am pleased to announce that applications for the 2024 D9 Scholarships are now being accepted!

    There are two different scholarships being offered:  Student Scholarship and Professional Scholarship.

    Attached you will find criteria and applications for both opportunities, as well as a flyer.  Please help spread that word and distribute this information to your contacts within the D9 region.

    The application deadline for both scholarships is February 15.

  • Start the New Year Right! Attend the Administrator Section Executive Summit

    Parks and Recreation Master Plans, Park Specific Master Plans, Strategic Plans…That’s a lot of plans. Led by staff from Blue Point Planning, this session will discuss the differences between these documents, various approaches to them and effective strategies for community engagement. You will also hear from professionals in the field about successes and pitfalls in development and implementation.

  • CFPR 2024 Foundation Cup Golf Tournament Registration

    The California Foundation for Parks and Recreation (CFPR) welcomes golfers to register for the annual Foundation Cup to be played at @Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Player check-in begins at 6:45 a.m. with tournament shotgun start at 8 a.m.

    Player registration is $230/golfer with registration open for a twosome or foursome and includes green fees, golf cart, swag, player breakfast, player lunch, and amazing fun with your fellow conference attendees.

    CPRS D9 is excited to invite you to come hiking with us on July 21, 2023, in beautiful Malibu, California. Please plan on meeting up at the trail head by 8:00am. Please remember to pack water & sunscreen! There is usually free parking along PCH or a private lot for $12.

    "Enjoy this 3.7-mile out-and-back trail near Malibu, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 37 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. The Development & Operations Section is comprised of professionals involved in the development, design, management, operation and maintenance of parks, facilities, open space, trails and other infrastructure developed and maintained for public recreational purposes. The mission of the section is to provide educational, networking and technical support programs and services to professionals who operate and develop public facilities.
