The school teaches a systematic approach for determining the resources needed to maintain a public facility, with lifelong professionals providing knowledge and opportunities not available anywhere else. The purpose of Maintenance Management School is to enhance the skills of park and recreation professionals through education, focusing on asset-based budgeting and its application through current philosophies, as well as innovative and practical maintenance management techniques, fostering leadership, self-growth, and professional development for individuals from all backgrounds.
