CPRS Statewide Healthy Play: Education & Funding Initiative

CPRS, GameTime, PlayCore, Great Western Recreation, and MRC Recreation are partnering to promote Healthy Play through education and funding. This initiative supports the creation of evidence-based play and recreation spaces across California.

Education: Free professional development events, including CEU opportunities, will train parks and recreation professionals,  landscape architects, educators, school administrators and play advocates on the role of play in building healthier communities.

Funding: GameTime is offering funding to CPRS members to establish National Demonstration Sites that prioritize inclusion, nature integration, physical activity, and adult fitness.

Impact & Advocacy: Data collection and outcome reports will highlight the benefits of play, supporting advocacy efforts and reinforcing the value of parks in California.

Statewide Education & Funding Assistance Process

Professional Development Event: Register at www.gametime.com/cprs for session details and agenda. Attendees receive free CEUs.

Apply for Funding: Advocate for your community by applying by July 7th, 2025 at www.gametime.com/cprs. You must be a CPRS member to apply.

Award Selection: Recipients notified by July 28th, 2025. Projects must be installed by December 2025 for data collection.

Research & Recognition: PlayCore will collect statewide data and share outcomes.
Awardees recognized at the 2026 CPRS Conference and Expo.
